EN 1.4404 (commonly referred to as AISI 316L or X2CrNiMo17-12-2) is a premium austenitic stainless steel bar alloyed with molybdenum (Mo). The addition of molybdenum significantly enhances its pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in aggressive chloride, marine, and chemical environments, while its low carbon content (≤ 0.030%) ensures excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding.
